4500 Ashburnhams | 16th December 2014

Ashburnham bricks are very hard to come by and for that reason highly sought after. Originally made in a brick factory in the village of Ashburnham in East Sussex, they have their characteristic grey or blue ends. We are lucky enough to have 4500 orf these bricks of which 500 are like new having been embedded in mud and no mortar applied.

They are a superb Victorian red style brick. Size – 9″ x 4 1/4″ x 2 1/2″ (65 mm depth)

Buildings in Sussex using Ashburnhams are often built with flemish bond which shows off the grey ends in a pattern.
